The idea

Curriculum-linked outdoor excursions for schools, scout troops and youth programs across Southern Vermont. We build the day around what your class is actually studying — Revolutionary War history, forest ecology, geology, watershed science — and deliver it standing in the place where it happened rather than reading about it.

Our education runs are put together with the teacher, not handed to them. If your unit is on the Revolutionary War, we build the Bennington battlefield day. If it is forest ecology, we climb through five forest zones on Mt. Equinox in one morning and talk about why they change. If it is geology, we go find the marble.

Everything is fully insured, all drivers are background-checked, and we run one adult chaperone seat per vehicle as standard. We work with public schools, independent schools, homeschool cooperatives and scout troops, and we hold rates deliberately low for public school groups.

Highlights

  • Revolutionary War history on the actual ground
  • Five forest zones in a single morning climb
  • Watershed and geology field science
  • Career-day sessions on trades and guiding

Good to know

  • Certificates of insurance provided directly to your district on request.
  • Reach out four to six weeks ahead so we can build the curriculum tie-in properly.
  • Every school trip is custom-quoted, and we work hard to keep public school trips accessible.
