The idea
A birthday built around a Jeep rather than a dining room table. We decorate the vehicle, plan a route around whatever the birthday person actually likes, and set up a surprise at the destination — a cake at a summit overlook, a picnic by the river, or a full catered spread in a meadow. Works just as well for a nine-year-old as it does for a seventieth.
The formula is simple: pick a destination worth the drive, decorate the Jeep, and have the thing they did not expect waiting when you arrive. We have run treasure-hunt routes for ten-year-olds with clues at each stop, and quiet sunset picnics for people turning seventy who did not want a party at all.
